Anise (organic)

This article is extremely scarce and expensive. At the moment it is almost impossible to get proper organic anise.

Cardamoms (organic)

At the moment there is a big scarcity for this article in the conventional sector as well as in the organic sector which is connected to an increase in prices. There are almost no stocks any more.

Chinese products

Also the prices for products that are imported from China, as for example chillies, ginger, garlic, paprika flakes, are rising. On the one hand this is due to smaller crops, on the other hand the quality standards in Europe are ex-tremely high. When selling to Asia exporters simply have less regulations to obey.

Gelatine

At present prices for gelatine have dropped a lot. The lowest prices are expected to be in January or February.

Gluten

According to press reports the incom-patibility of gluten, which is called „Coeliac disease“, is dramatically rising. Coeliac disease means an incom-patibility against ingredients of cereals, i. e. the physical immune system reacts on gluten which is in wheat and other sorts of cereals. Many spices are field crops for which the danger of unintended bringing in by drifts exists. Please don't hesitate to talk to us so that we can find solutions for you together.

Pepper

The market is continuosly firm and increasing. Only the weak US-Dollar keeps us from higher prices at the moment. Crops in Brasil and Indonesia have already started. The arrival of the new crop is expected to be in January/February. If then the crops from

Vietnam push additionally on the market there might be a relaxation in March 2010. However, you mustn't forget that the price has been quite stable for many years – in contrast to the past.

Certifications

On 3 and 4 December we were again certified after International Food Standard (IFS) on a higher level and after DIN EN ISO 14001 (Environmental Management). You can rely on us.

At the end of the year
