Building project

In May this year we will start to build another warehouse as well as to expand our mill building in order to widen our capacities. These measures will be realized while our daily business continues. Of course, for us this means big difficulties in logistics and production. But also during this period we want to serve you flexibly and steadily. However, if something will not work as normal, we ask you already today for your understanding.

Ginger

The good Chinese ginger is very scarce and expensive. Other origins might be a little cheaper but they don't have the radiant light colour and the rounded flavour. Also the aflatoxin value is often higher than the one of the carefully treated ginger from China. We do generally only trade ginger that is not sulfurated (SO₂-content max. 10 mg/kg) and therefore doesn't contain this allergen.

Japan

The awful incidences in Japan have of course evoked reactions also in the food industry. Independently from discussions about nuclear energy and its impacts on Fukushima our compassion is above all for the people who are concerned by this natural disaster and who are reported about too less in the media. The atom dispute in Germany brings obviously better editions than the fate of stricken Japanese.

Regarding the reactor accident in Fukushima and our experiences after the desaster in Tschernobyl we have increased our stocks with products that have already been in Europe before the reactor accident. If necessary, we will carry out additional careful incoming goods controls for our imported raw materials inclusively their packings in the context of the current councilregulations regarding radioactive burdens.

Mace and Nutmeg

The problem articles. Good and proper products can hardly be bought and in the meantime the price has increased astronomically. At the present time there are no more discussions about the price, but rather if these articles can be delivered at all. Therefore we ask you to pay attention to proper goods. With the price also the "creativity" for both articles has increased. However, as our customer you are in any case on the safe side.

Pepper

Unfortunately pepper growers have learned from the mineral oil industry. Shipments are dragging, a fact that leads to an artifical scarcity on the world market. Against all ex-pectations there were hardly price reductions after the new harvests. You can rather see that the pepper prices match with the season: they start to flourish.

Regenerative energies

"Food industry is worried about the increasing use of agrarian raw materials for producing energy" says the Federal Association of the German Food Industry (BVE) in a press release. Exactly this topic will occupy us after the harvests in autumn this year. In the present time of almost rising prices, Europaen and German herbs were an "oasis of tranquility" regarding the stable price. This will change! Less and less farmers want to cultivate careintensive products like marjoram or parsley because they can earn more money and have less work with maize or rape for regenerative energies. So be prepared to notably rising prices for herbs.
